My December challenge was a success because I achieved more than I would have without it. I did exercise more than I would have even if it wasn’t daily. I really rocked on my food choices of 75% raw vegan. I even brought a watermelon filled with fruit salad that was carved like Santa’s sleigh to Christmas with my extended family. It was as big a hit as the chocolate cream pie! I used the sauna regularly, got great sleep, got adjusted regularly and the Kangan water ionizer is being shipped as we speak. I hydroflossed daily too. I also gained from this challenge a feeling of a closer bond and support from the greater Lifebook community as momentum behind my personal goals. It was great hearing everyone’s successes… and confessions!
After reading Kyle’s top 10, I was inspired to play with this poem. Hope you enjoy it!
Twas the Month Before Christmas
Twas the month before Christmas, when all through the land
Some folks were living their dreamlife as planned.
Their goals were created and written with care,
Knowing the future would soon find them there.
Each night they’d be nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of their lifebook danced in their heads.
I lay awake thinking of holiday crap,
Then settled my brain for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the curtains and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a platoon of marines who moved without fear.
With a leader who lead them with brains and with brawn,
I knew in a moment it must be Jon.
More rapid than eagles his soldiers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Crystal! now, Jaydev! now, Colleen and Kevin!
On, Andrea! On, Jean! on Dr. Dan and Robyn!
“Now Peter! now, Rick! now, Steve and Jason!
On, Patrick! On, Mike! on Kyle and Brian!
“Now John! now, Todd! now, Celeste and Daali!
On, Chris! On, Rachel! on Tim and Amy!
“Now Tim! now, Natalie! now, Kerry and Keenan!
On, Karla! On, Sandra! on Alba and Stephan!
Be the best of your best! You are awesome, that’s all!
Just pick yourself up if ever you fall!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane go,
When they meet with an obstacle, they just say no!
So on with their goals came the soldiers hellbent,
If they said they would go there, well, then they went!
And then, in a twinkling, I heard Jon say this:
You have to commit if you want to have bliss.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
A thought came to me that, indeed, was profound.
I dressed in my sweats and exercise gear,
The one with the logo that said “no fear”.
I grabbed some trash bags and without looking back,
Raced to the kitchen for my plan of attack.
My eyes-how they twinkled! My thoughts- how merry!
I made a fruit smoothie – the flavor? Strawberry!
Then I emptied my cupboards of all the junk, don’t you know
The flour and sugar as white as the snow.
The chips and the cookies, the bread and the beer
I, too as a marine, would finish this year!
I dropped to the floor and tightened my belly,
Ten pushups made me sweaty and smelly!
Not chubby and plump, a sprite little elf,
I looked in the mirror and smiled at myself!
If Jon were right here, he would shake his head,
And remind me that I had nothing to dread.
If I kept my word, and went straight to my work,
I, too, would succeed and not be a jerk.
What you put in, as everyone knows,
Is what you get out and that’s how life flows!
I sprang to my feet, and started to whistle,
As I watched the platoon head out like a missile.
I heard Jon exclaim, (or was it his wife?),
“Good health to all, and to all a great Life!”
