23 Mar How Nicole discovered her life’s plan
Written by Lifebook Member Nicole R.
I’ve always felt like there was a plan for me – I just never knew what that plan was – or never knew if that plan was big or small.
Everyone has ups and downs in their life, and I thought I had experienced mine earlier then most, as I was in a car accident when I was 9 years old and was sitting next to my mother as she was taken from this earth far too soon at the age of 27. Being she was a single mom and I had never met my father, I went to live with my aunt and my brother went to live with his Dad.
Throughout all of that my motto always was “everything happens for a reason.” I didn’t like my life. I wanted to be a typical child with 2 parents and siblings but clearly God had different plans for me. I always thought that by thinking everything happened for a reason, I was doing okay – I was going along with the life I was suppose to live. I was very good at going with the flow. Well little did I know how much I was missing out by living with this idea in my head.
I was introduced to this little thing called Lifebook- you may have heard of it? 😉 – and literally a whole new world opened up for me.
I realized that no matter what circumstances may have happened to me, I still could create the life I wanted to live.
ME – and only ME!
I had ideas and thoughts inside of me I never knew where there. It was quite amazing. I went through the 4 days in Lifebook and I thought – ha- I really have this life thing down. I had a lot of work to do, but I felt pretty good! Keep in mind at this point I am the single mom to 3 kiddos ages 11-15. So I get home and am doing well with my [program].
2 weeks after I am in my groove and feeling like I have control and I got this- I get a phone call asking if I can take my 15-year old nephew as he is being placed in foster care because his mother is unable to care for him or his sisters. So here is where my big life vision plan could have come to a screeching halt -4 kids ages 11-15 and 3 of them teenagers! However because I had spent so many hours on myself, looking at my character, my spiritual life, and how I wanted to parent – I was able to take Dana (my nephew). And while it hasn’t been easy we are doing so well!
Everyday I read my book and especially my parenting section because I know those thoughts and words were already in me, and when I just take the time to focus on it I can and am creating the life I want.
Now I have just added another being on this journey and am able to bless him with the knowledge and strength that I have gotten through this. And when I think back to many years ago knowing there was a plan for me but thinking it might be small, I know I was so wrong-
There are only big amazing things ahead for me and I couldn’t be happier.
